Utah Moms for Clean Air, Sevier County Chapter

Shanna Bastian Shanna Bastian

Shanna was born in Murray, Utah, and grew up all around the Wasatch Front. She spent most of her growing up years in Kearns. Shanna moved to Sevier County when she was in high school and just couldn’t leave the beautiful valley and great people. She has been there for 13 years now and loves the clean air.

She is the stay-at-home / home school mother of six children ranging in ages from 2-11. Of her six children, three have been diagnosed with asthma. Shanna knows all too well what this means for her children as she too has the disease and works hard to help educate others about the dangers asthma poses. Her children are the fifth documented generation in her family to have it. She is married to Corey Bastian and they are currently waiting for the family farm, a dream he has had since he was a child.

Shanna is Founder of the Sevier County chapter of Utah Moms for Clean Air.

Utah Moms for Clean Air, Park City Chapter

Kathy LofftKathy Lofft

Katherine (Kathy) Lofft moved to Utah with her husband from Washington, DC in August 2004, seeking a change of lifestyle and a moderated pace in the dramatic natural setting of the Wasatch back. It was only after moving to Park City that both she, and her husband, Alex, gained a full appreciation for the myriad environmental challenges facing the state. A cancer survivor who participates in a wide range of outdoor activities including skiing, mountain biking, snowshoeing and hiking, Kathy has a personal stake in helping ensure that we all breathe clean and healthy air. She and Alex are also concerned about the effect a degradation of air (and water) quality – together with other environmental impacts – may have on local industry and the state’s economic competitiveness. A graduate of Smith College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Kathy manages her own law practice, Alliance Legal Services, in Park City. Kathy is also actively involved in other area organizations, including Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake and Habitat for Humanity for Summit & Wasatch Counties.

Kathy is Co-founder of the Park City chapter of Utah Moms for Clean Air.

Mary McIntyre JacquinMary McIntyre Jacquin

Mary Jacquin is the mother of three children, Max (8), Will (5) and Morgan (22 months) and a resident of Park City. Mary has a B.S. in Political Science from Santa Clara University and is finishing her Masters of Liberal Arts from Johns Hopkins University. Mary moved from London, England, in 2004 with her husband and children, and is thrilled about living in the beautiful mountains of Utah. While excited about raising her children here, Utah’s air quality is a major concern for Mary. Mary is passionate about the outdoors and encourages her children to participate in outdoor activities, but is concerned about the parallels between Utah’s air quality and the horribly smoggy days of her childhood in Los Angeles.

Mary is Co-founder of the Park City chapter of Utah Moms for Clean Air.
